Ramnadu Women Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are based out of Vani Village, right near the post office at No.4/2/219. Most of us here are women who have been farming these lands for a long time. It started because we wanted to handle our own crops instead of always selling to middlemen who didn’t pay us fair. The heat in Ramnad can be tough, but we manage. Some days the rain doesn't come when it should, and that makes things hard for the crops. We grow a variety of things depending on the season. Working together helps us get better prices for seeds and fertilizers. It’s not a fancy operation. Most of the time we are out in the fields or sitting together in the small office area to talk about what needs to be done next. Life in the village revolves around the harvest cycles. Sometimes the harvest is good, sometimes it is just okay. We share the equipment and help each other out when one family falls behind. It's just a group of local women trying to make a living and keep the farms going. There is always a lot of paperwork to deal with now that we are a company, which is new for many of us. We are learning as we go. It's mostly just about making sure everyone has enough to keep their household running. We don't have big machines, just our hands and some basic tools. Everyone knows everyone here in Vani.
