Muthukulathur Vaarahi Cotton Fed Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are a group of cotton farmers out here in Muthukulathur. You can find us at 267, Kelal, which is over in the Sambakulam post office area. Most of us grew up right here in this part of the country. We know the soil and we know how the cotton grows when the weather is right. We formed this producer company to make it easier for us to get our crops to the people who need them. Farming cotton is hard on the hands and the back, so having each other makes a big difference. The office in Kelal is a simple place where we meet up to discuss the seasons. We don't have any big marketing plans or shiny brochures. We just talk about the things that matter, like the price of seeds or when the next rain might come. Sometimes we sit outside under the shade when it gets too hot in the building. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except during the harvest when everyone is moving fast. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation. We are just local people trying to make a living from the land. If you visit us, you won’t find anyone in a suit. We are usually covered in a bit of dust from the fields. It’s honest work and we do it together here in Muthukulathur. This is where we belong and we know the land well.
