If you head down Gulab Vadi Main Road and look near the Shreeji Way Bridge, you’ll find us in the Umakant Pandit Udhyog area. It’s a busy part of the city, and the traffic near the bridge can be a real headache in the evenings. Our workshop is where we spend most of our waking hours. We work with plastics, which means there’s always a specific smell in the air from the melting granules. The floor is usually covered in little bits of plastic scraps that we sweep up at the end of the shift. We have a few machines that have been with us since we opened, and we know exactly how they sound when they’re running right. If one of them starts making a funny noise, we know exactly where to hit it or what bolt to tighten. It’s a family-style environment where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. We just focus on the orders we have and making sure the quality is decent enough for our customers. Sometimes the neighbors come by to complain about the noise, so we try to keep the shutters down when we can. It’s just a regular life in a plastic factory. We drink tea twice a day, deal with the heat, and keep the machines humming as long as there’s work to do. Our main goal is just to get through the day's pile of work without any major breakdowns. It is hard, dusty work.
