You can find Swati Spices over on Vadali Street in the Nani Bazar area. We are in the Rajkot district. Being in a bazaar means it is always noisy and crowded. There are always people walking by and scooters honking. Our shop is called Jagdish. It’s where we keep all the spices and do the packing. The smell of turmeric and chili is always in the air here. It sticks to your clothes. We’ve been in Nani Bazar for a long time. It’s a tight-knit place. We know the other shopkeepers well. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's just a front room with shelves and a back room where we do the heavy work. Sometimes we have to shout over the noise of the street to talk to each other. We handle all the spice processing ourselves. We don't use big machines for everything. A lot of it is done by hand, especially the sorting. It’s a lot of work, but we think it’s the right way to do it. We don't have any awards or big certificates on the wall. We just have our customers who come back every week. Some days the heat in Rajkot is almost too much, so we keep the doors open for a breeze. It’s a simple business. We work hard, go home, and come back the next day to do it again.
