Satyam Gifts Company has been over here at 5/6 Lati Plot for a good while now. It started as a small idea because people in the neighborhood always needed something quick for birthdays or weddings. The shelves are usually pretty full, maybe a bit crowded sometimes, with all sorts of items we’ve picked up over the months. When you walk in, it smells a bit like cardboard and new plastic, which is just how a gift shop is. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us making sure things are dusted and the stock is where it should be. Most days are quiet until the evening hits and then folks stop by on their way home from work. It’s a simple setup. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regulars who live around the plot. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit mixed up, but we usually find what a customer is looking for if they give us a minute. It’s not fancy, and the lighting could be better, but it works for what we do here. We just keep the doors open and try to be helpful when someone can’t decide between two different photo frames or clocks. That is pretty much how it goes every day. We stay busy with the wrapping and making sure the fragile things don't break. It's just a normal local business doing its thing and trying to keep the shelves stocked for whoever walks in.
