Hemali Masala

Hemali Masala is situated on College Road, right by the railway crossing and across from J P College. The noise from the trains is something we got used to a long time ago, and now we barely notice it. It is actually a good spot because students and teachers are always walking past. We spend our days grinding and packing spices right here. The air always smells like cumin or turmeric, and that scent tends to stay on your clothes even after the workday is over. It is a small operation. We are not trying to be some massive factory with a lot of machines. We just prepare the masalas for the local families and the small shops in the area. Sometimes the grinding machines get quite loud, but that is the sound of work getting done. If you are walking toward the college, you will see our sign out front. We started small and have stayed that way because it works for us. We do not do anything very complicated here. We just focus on getting the spices ready for people who need them for their daily cooking. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. The shop floor often has a bit of spice dust on it, but the products are always kept clean. We know many of our customers by name. It is just how life goes on College Road. We are here every day doing our thing at Hemali Masala.
