Deccan Tractors

Our place, Deccan Tractors, is located at Plot No-305 in the Ajanta Complex on Gondal Road. We are directly opposite Bombay Hospital, so it’s a very easy spot to find if you’re in Rajkot. The lot is usually filled with tractors and different kinds of farm equipment. It gets pretty dusty out there because of all the traffic on Gondal Road, so we’re always wiping down the machines. We’ve got a small office inside the complex where we handle the paperwork and talk to the farmers who come in. Most of our day is spent outside in the yard, checking the engines or showing someone how the gears work. We have grease on our hands more often than not. It’s not a polished showroom with glass walls; it’s more of a working yard. The sun hits the metal tractors and makes them real hot by the afternoon. We have a few plastic chairs under a small shade where we sit with customers and share a bottle of water. It’s a straightforward business. People need machines for their land, and we have them here. We don’t use any big sales pitches or fancy words. We just show them what the tractor can do and let them decide. It’s how things have always been done here, and we don't see any reason to change it. Every tractor has its own quirks.
