Our shop is number 4 in Maliya Chowk. If you come to the chowk, you can't miss us because of all the metal equipment sitting out front. We deal with agricultural tools and machinery, so there is always a bit of grease and oil on our hands. Farmers come in from the surrounding villages early in the morning to see what we have or to get something fixed. The chowk is a loud place with plenty of shouting and horns honking, but we like the energy of it. We have shelves full of parts and tools that have been there for a while. It’s a bit cramped inside, especially when we have a big piece of equipment taking up the floor space. We don't really use a computer for much; most things are written down in a big book. Sometimes we spend hours just talking to a customer about their fields and what kind of plow or blade they need. It’s a messy job, and the shop always smells a bit like iron and earth. We don't wear uniforms or anything like that. We just wear clothes that we don't mind getting stained or torn. It is a small operation, but we stay busy enough to keep the doors open from dawn until it gets dark. People know they can just stop by and we will be here ready to help them find a nut or bolt.
