Capital Plywood

Capital Plywood is located on Tagore Road, right across from Atul Motors. If you’re driving down that way, you can’t really miss us. We spend our days surrounded by stacks of plywood and the smell of fresh wood. It’s a bit different from the metal shops around town. We handle a lot of different sheets, some thick and some thin, depending on what people are looking for. Most of our customers are local carpenters or people trying to fix up their own homes. It’s nice to talk to them and hear about the furniture they’re making. Our shop isn't perfectly tidy; there’s usually some sawdust on the floor and scraps of wood in the corners, but that’s part of the job. We don’t have a marketing department or anything like that. It’s just us here, answering the phone and helping people load their trucks. Tagore Road can get pretty jammed up with traffic, so we try to get the loading done as fast as we can. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and we know the rhythms of the street. It’s a simple business. We buy the plywood, we store it, and we sell it. There isn't much more to it than that. We just try to be helpful when someone isn't sure which grade of wood they need. It’s a regular job for regular people.
