Akshar Exports

Our place is at 419-A on the 3rd floor of the Raghuvir Complex. We are located on Savjibhai Street in the Soni Bazar area of Rajkot. This part of the city is famous for its jewelry and silver work, so the streets are always packed with people and scooters. Akshar Exports is situated high enough that we get away from some of the street noise, though the climb up the stairs can be a bit much in the afternoon heat. The office is simple—just some desks, a few chairs for visitors, and a lot of shipping envelopes. We spend our time coordinating between the local workshops and buyers who are far away. There’s a lot of weighing and checking of small items involved. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of staff. It’s just a tight-knit group of us who know the trade well. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. The building itself is old and has that specific smell of a busy commercial hub. We keep our records in big ledgers and on the computer, making sure nothing goes missing. It’s a practical way to work, focusing on the exports and making sure everything is packed securely before it leaves the building. Most days we are too busy to notice the time passing until the market starts to close down for the evening.
