Patel Ply Lam

Patel Ply Lam is situated in Shop No. 7 inside the Durga College Complex. We are right on KK Road in the Moudhapara area. If you’ve ever walked past the college, you’ve probably seen our shop. We deal in plywood, laminates, and other materials people use for making furniture or doing home repairs. The shop is usually filled with the smell of fresh wood and the stacks of boards reach almost to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when we have a lot of stock in, but we manage. We’ve been here for a while now, serving people from the neighborhood and some small-scale carpenters. It’s a simple setup—just a counter and a lot of storage space. We don’t use any high-tech systems; we mostly just talk to people and show them the different patterns and finishes we have available. Sometimes we have to move a whole pile of boards just to get to the one at the bottom, which is a bit of a workout. We don’t do any big promotions or have a sales team. People just come in because they’re renovating a room or building a new cupboard. We give them what they need and maybe some advice on which glue works well. Moudhapara is a busy place, and there’s always something going on outside our door. We like the energy of the area and being right there where the local action is. It’s just a regular local business doing its thing day by day for the community.
