Motor Mechanic

Down in Raigad, specifically at our spot with the 402108 pincode, things are pretty straightforward. Motor Mechanic has been around since 1976, or at least that’s what the old records say. The floor is covered in oil stains that have probably been there longer than I’ve been alive. It’s a messy place, but that’s just how a garage is supposed to look. We have tools scattered across the benches and half-finished projects taking up most of the floor space. The 18th has always been a significant part of how we identify the location. Raigad gets really hot in the summer, and the tin roof doesn’t help much. We just drink a lot of water and keep moving. Sometimes we have old engines just sitting in the corner for months. The smell of grease and diesel is something you don't even notice after the first week. We aren't big on talking much. Usually, it's just the sound of a wrench hitting the floor or someone swearing at a stubborn bolt. It’s honest work, even if it leaves you with black fingernails every night. People in the district know we’ve been here forever. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anything. If someone shows up, they usually just stand around and watch us work. It’s a bit old-fashioned I guess. We finish up when the sun goes down and start again tomorrow.
