The office is located out here in Karjat, specifically near the Atre Mangal Karyalaya in Mudre Kh. It is quite a shift from the usual rush of Vikhroli or the main parts of Mumbai, but we have been operating from here in the Raigad district for a while now. Most mornings start with checking the mail and making sure the site plans are in order before the sun gets too high and makes everything outside difficult. It is a bit of a trek for some of us, but the area is quieter than the city, which helps when you need to focus on technical details. We handle a lot of the standard engineering work you would expect, nothing too flashy, just keeping busy with projects that come our way. Sometimes the electricity acts up or the monsoon rain hits the roof so loud you can’t hear yourself think, but we manage. People know us as the team that is always at their desks or out in the field wearing dusty boots. We have a few old computers that take their time to start, but they get the job done eventually. It is not the most modern setup you will find, but it works for what we need. The local tea stall nearby is where most of our unofficial meetings happen anyway. We are just a regular group of people trying to do our jobs right and making sure the building projects we touch don’t fall down or cause problems later on.
