Advanced Centre For Treatment Research And Education In Cancer Actrec Tata Memorial Centre

Our place is out in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, and it is part of the Tata Memorial Centre. It is a really large campus here at the Cancer Research Institute. There is quite a lot of research happening every single day inside these halls. We deal with the treatment and the education side of things specifically related to cancer. It is a serious environment, as you can probably imagine. People are always walking around in their lab coats or carrying heavy files between the different buildings on the grounds. The ACTREC site is a bit of a walk from the main road, but it is quiet enough for the kind of focused work we do here. We have labs and rooms for the students and the doctors. It is not a flashy corporate office by any means. It is more about the scientific labs and the clinical spaces. Everything is very practical and focuses on the tasks we have at hand. Navi Mumbai has grown a lot around us over the last few years. We spend our time checking data, looking at samples, and trying to figure things out. There is a lot of specialized equipment that needs constant upkeep and cleaning. It can be long hours here, especially when a research project is in the middle of something important. We just keep at it because the work simply needs doing. We are here every day. It is just the way it goes.
