Our office is over at 201 Yashashree Apartment in Panvel. It is a local cooperative society, so we handle a lot of small accounts for people living around here in Maharashtra. It is not like a big bank with marble floors and security guards everywhere. We have a few desks, some old filing cabinets, and a computer that sometimes runs a bit slow. People come in to deposit a little bit of money or ask about a small loan for their business or home. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. It gets a bit crowded on Saturday mornings when everyone has time off work. We have been at this location for a while. The address 402103 is easy to find once you get into Panvel. There is always someone drinking tea and talking about the news. We keep track of the passbooks and try to make sure the numbers are right. It is a lot of paperwork, honestly. Sometimes the fans overhead make a lot of noise, but we are used to it. We just provide a place for the community to keep their savings together. It is a simple setup at Jay Tuljabhavani Sahakari Patpedhi, but it works for us and the neighbors who use it. We do not have any big goals, just helping people with their money and staying open every day for those who need us.
