Yak Public School

This school is out in Halbudruk, specifically in Ward No 3 of Khopoli. Being in the Raigad district, we are surrounded by a bit more green than you might find in the big cities. The address is 410202 if you are looking it up. It’s a bit of a walk from the main transport links, but the local families know the way well enough. We have a simple building here that serves the community. It’s not a very loud place, except when the kids are out on the grounds playing. We have the standard classrooms and a small area for the staff to sit and have their tea between classes. Life here moves at a slightly slower pace than in Mumbai or Pune. We deal with the usual stuff like making sure the water tanks are full and the grounds are kept clear of weeds. In the rainy season, the hills around Khalapur get very green and it’s quite a sight from the classroom windows. We just focus on the basics here. The kids come in, they do their work, and then they head home to their families. We don’t have any big corporate offices or anything like that. It’s just us, the teachers, and the students in this corner of Maharashtra. We’ve been here for a while and we plan on staying for more years to come. It’s just how we do things here every single day.
