Geeta English High School

Down in Karjat, specifically in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, you will find us. We are a high school, so we deal with older students who are preparing for their futures. The school building is a familiar sight to the people living around here. We have classrooms that have seen many years of students passing through. It gets quite warm in this part of Maharashtra, so we do our best with fans and open windows. The students are usually busy with their notebooks and textbooks. We don't have any grand ideas; we just want them to learn something useful. Karjat is a place where everyone seems to know each other, so we often see parents at the local market or on the street. Our staff is mostly made up of people who live nearby. We walk to work or take a short ride. The school day has a rhythm to it. There is the morning assembly, then the long hours of classes, and then the rush to get home once the final bell rings. We keep the place running as well as we can. Sometimes a door might creak or a desk needs a bit of repair, but we fix it and keep going. It’s a practical place for practical learning. We’ve been at this Raigad address for a long time and we plan to stay here for many more years to come.
