Konda Saraswathamma Hanumanthaiah English College is located over in the S.K.P. Layout area of Raichur, right on Hanuman Talkies Road. It is quite a long name, so most people just know where we are by the landmark. We are in a busy part of Jawahar Nagar, so there is always noise from the street. The college is for older students who are finishing their higher secondary or starting their degrees. We focus on English medium education because that is what many families here are looking for. Our building is several floors high, with stairs that keep everyone fit since there is no lift. The classrooms are full of wooden benches and desks that have been used by many students over the years. We have a small office where we handle all the admissions and exam forms. It is usually a bit of a mess with papers and folders everywhere. The teachers here are dedicated, often staying late to help someone who is struggling with a subject. We don't have a big campus with grass and trees, just the building and the street outside. During the exam months, the atmosphere gets very serious and quiet. But the rest of the year, you can hear the students talking and laughing in the corridors between classes. We just try to provide a solid place for them to study and get their certificates so they can find good work in the future.
