Purulia Lalmati Farmers Producer Company is based in the village of Gohira, in the Potentulhity area of Purulia. We operate out of Dakshin Mahato’s place, and it’s a very local, rural setup. The soil in this part of Purulia is that famous red color, which is why we have Lalmati in our name. It’s a bit of a rugged landscape, and the people here are just as tough and hardworking. Our office is really just a part of the house where we keep the books and meet with the farmers. We don't have any fancy equipment or a big team of employees. It’s mostly just Dakshin and a few others from the village who handle the daily tasks. People often just walk over from their farms to talk about their crops or ask for advice. We don't use any complicated business jargon or have big meetings. We just sit together and figure things out in a way that makes sense for us. The weather in Purulia can be very harsh, especially in the summer heat, so we try to get most of our work done early in the day. There’s always red dust everywhere, but this is our home and we are proud of it. We are just trying to help the local farmers get a better deal for their hard work. It’s a small, honest operation run by people who live and work right here in Gohira. We don't need anything fancy to do what’s right.
