Our setup in Orissa is a bit unusual because we are based out of a place in Puri, at Kelu Charan’s address. It’s in Garatorihan, which is under the Kumara Para post office. It’s a long way from the big tech hubs you usually hear about. We work in a very simple way here. There are no glass partitions or shiny floors. It’s just a room with some computers and a lot of wires. Being in Puri, the air is a bit salty and the pace of life is much slower than in a city like Bhubaneswar. We focus on the tech side of things, but our daily life is very rooted in the local atmosphere. Most of us speak the local language and we don’t really bother with formal office clothes. We just wear what’s comfortable and get to the tasks. Sometimes the cows walk right past the window while we are debugging something. It’s a quiet existence. We get our work done and then go home to our families. The internet connection was a struggle at first, but we’ve got it sorted now. People in the village know us as the guys who work on the computers at Kelu’s place. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything. Our work just moves through the system quietly. It’s a practical, local way to run a technology branch without any of the city stress. We just take it one day at a time.
