Yash Ice Cream

Yash Ice Cream is located in Vadgaon Sheri, specifically in the Upper Govind Nagar Krishna area. It is a quiet enough spot most of the time, except for when the local school lets out. We spend a good part of our morning checking the freezers and making sure the temperature stays where it should be. If the power goes out, it’s a real headache, so we are always keeping an ear out for the hum of the machines. The floor is tile, which makes it easier to clean up the sticky spots when someone drops a bit of their cone. In Upper Govind Nagar Krishna, you get to know the neighbors pretty well because they all stop by when the weather gets warm. We have a few benches outside where people sit and talk while they eat. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoon, so we usually pull the shades down halfway to keep the glare out. It’s not a fancy place with lots of neon lights or anything. We just keep the stock full and make sure the place is clean enough for people to feel comfortable. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we have to reorganize the whole back room while we wait. It’s just part of the daily grind here. By the time we lock up at night, the street is finally cooling down and we can head home ourselves after a long day of serving.
