Vvms Hospital

Our hospital is out on the Pune Nagar Road in Shirur right near the Bafna Mala area. It’s a busy stretch of highway so there are always vehicles zooming past the front. We get a lot of people stopping in who are just passing through and also the local families from around Shirur. The building is pretty easy to spot from the road which is good for people in a hurry. Inside it’s a bit of a mix of everything. We have the emergency area and then the regular rooms for people staying a few days. The floors are that hard linoleum that’s easy to mop and we’re always mopping it. We have a small kitchen area for the staff and a place where people can wait for their relatives. It isn’t a five-star hotel and we don’t try to act like it is. We’re just a hospital trying to keep up with the needs of the town. The doctors are usually busy with their rounds and the nurses spend a lot of time at the station checking the monitors. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s strangely quiet for an hour or two. We deal with whatever comes through the door whether it’s a small scrape or something much bigger. It’s a lot of long hours and hard work but that’s what we signed up for when we opened here on the Pune Nagar Road near Bafna Mala.
