We are located right opposite the IBM company in the Hadapsar Industrial Estate. It’s a busy place because of all the people working nearby. Our building has several rooms that we keep ready for people who need a place to stay while they work or study. It’s not a hotel, so things are a bit more basic. We have rows of beds, some cupboards for clothes, and shared bathrooms that need cleaning all the time. The sound of the industrial estate is always there in the background, but you stop noticing it after a while. We spend our days checking people in, making sure the water tanks are full, and fixing things like leaky taps or burnt-out light bulbs. It’s a lot of coming and going, with people working different shifts at IBM or the other offices. Sometimes the common area gets a bit loud when everyone is trying to use the stove or watch the small TV at the same time. We try to keep things orderly, but with so many people, there’s always something happening. We’ve been running this place in Hadapsar for a few years now, seeing many faces pass through. It’s a simple arrangement for people who just need a roof over their heads and a place to sleep after a long shift. We just stay on top of the daily chores to keep it running as best as we can.
