Ushakiran Eye Hospital

If you are looking for Ushakiran Eye Hospital, you have to head up to the first floor of the Dange Empire building. We are right there at Dange Chowk in the Thergaon area of Pune. The traffic down at the chowk can be a real headache, especially during the rush hour when everyone is trying to get through Chinchwad. Up here, it’s a bit quieter, though you can still hear the horns honking through the windows. The office isn't anything too fancy. We have a waiting room with some chairs that have been here for years, and a desk where we keep all the patient files in stacks. The light coming through the big windows is actually pretty good for looking at things, though we have to pull the curtains when the afternoon sun gets too sharp. People come in from all over Thergaon because they know where we are. We spend a lot of time cleaning the equipment and making sure the floor is wiped down. It’s a busy place but we try not to rush anyone too much. Sometimes the lift in the building is a bit slow, so people end up taking the stairs. We’ve got a small selection of frames in a glass case, mostly just the practical kinds that people actually use. It’s just us working away up here, day in and day out, helping folks see a bit better.
