Optic Darshan

You can find Optic Darshan over in Chinchwad, right inside the Shri Krishna Empire building. We are located quite close to the Swastika Hotel, which is a big landmark around here. Our shop is small but we’ve packed it with as many frames as we can fit on the walls. It’s usually a bit quiet inside, which is nice compared to the noise from the street. We’ve been helping people with their glasses and eye checks for a good while now. It’s a simple business. Someone comes in because they’re squinting at the newspaper, and we help them find a pair of frames that don’t look too bad on them. We have a few old machines for testing eyes that still work perfectly fine. The glass counters usually have a few fingerprints on them by the end of the day, so we spend a lot of time cleaning. We aren't trying to be one of those big fancy optical chains you see in the malls. We're just a local Chinchwad shop. Sometimes people stop in just to get their nose pads replaced or to have their glasses straightened after an accident. We don't mind at all. It’s good to see familiar faces from the neighborhood. The lighting in here is quite bright so everyone can see the frames clearly, but it can get a bit warm in the afternoons. We just keep the fan going and stay busy with whatever repairs come through the door. It’s a straightforward life and we like it.
