Umarji Hospital

Umarji Hospital is located on Shivaji Road, right in Shukrawar Peth. If you know the area, we are opposite the old Gadikhana. It’s a historic part of the city, and the building reflects that a little bit. We have a lot of rooms spread out across Survey No 351. It’s not a shiny new glass building; it’s a place that has seen a lot of people come and go over the years. Shukrawar Peth is always bustling with activity. We get a lot of foot traffic from Shivaji Road. People stop in because they’ve known about this location for years. The hospital stays quite busy, especially in the afternoons. We have different floors for different things, but it’s all very functional. The stairs are a bit narrow, and the hallways can get crowded with families waiting. We don’t use a lot of fancy words here. We just talk to people like they are our neighbors, because most of them are. There’s a certain rhythm to the day, starting with the morning rounds and ending with the night shift coming in. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we just take it one patient at a time. It’s a very real place with real people working hard every single day to keep things running. The windows look out over the street and you can see the whole world passing by while we work.
