Tina Beauty Parlour

Living and working in Tingre Nagar is pretty quiet compared to the main part of Pune city. Our place, Tina Beauty Parlour, is inside Flat No 9. It is a homey kind of setup because it is actually a residence. We have the mirrors and the chairs set up in one of the rooms, and the rest of the flat is just where we live our daily lives. You can usually hear the neighbors' kids playing in the hallway or someone cooking lunch next door. We start early when the ladies in the building want to get their hair or eyebrows done before they go to their jobs. It is not like those big salons you see in the malls. Here, we just have our basic tools, some good creams, and plenty of clean towels. We talk about everything while we work, like the weather, the price of vegetables, or what is happening in the city. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded if two or three people show up at once, but they just sit on the sofa and wait their turn. We make sure the floor is swept clean of hair every hour. The light in Tingre Nagar is nice in the evening, and we usually keep the windows open to let the breeze in. It is a simple life, running a parlour from a flat. We know most of our customers by name because they live right around the corner from us.
