We set up our shop right near the bus stop in Santosh Nagar. Most people around here know the McDonald’s nearby, so it is not too hard to find us on Kalewadi Phata Road. We do hair and skin things, and we have the laser equipment for treatments too. It gets pretty busy most mornings with people coming and going. The chairs in the waiting area are comfortable enough, though they have been around for a while. We see a lot of people from the neighborhood coming in for all sorts of different treatments. It is just a few of us here, trying to keep everyone’s skin and hair looking okay. The lights in the back room flicker sometimes but we just got used to it after a while. Dange Chowk is always noisy with all the traffic passing by outside. We have been in this spot for a bit now. Sometimes we run behind our schedule if a specific treatment takes longer than we first thought. It happens in this line of work. We just try to do a decent job for whoever walks through the front door. It is a small space, so things can get a bit cramped when it is raining outside and everyone is waiting inside at once. We keep the mirrors clean, as that is always a priority for us. Mostly we just talk about what needs doing and then we get to work. There is no corporate vibe here, just a regular local spot. We drink a lot of tea between the appointments.
