We are set up in Uruli Kanchan, which is part of the Haveli taluka. The workshop stays pretty noisy most of the day because of the machines running and the guys moving parts around. It’s an engineering spot, so there is always some metal being cut or something being welded in the back. If you come by, you’ll probably find someone covered in a bit of grease or holding a wrench. The office is small and usually has a few drawings spread out on the desk. It’s not the kind of place where things stay clean for long. We get a lot of trucks and vehicles stopping by the gate since we are right in the local area. The weather gets quite dusty around here, especially in the summer months, so we are always dusting off the equipment. We started out small and just kept at it, year after year. Most of our workers are from the villages nearby, so they know the roads and the people well. Sometimes the tea lady comes around twice a day, and that’s when everyone takes a five-minute break to sit on the benches outside. It’s straightforward work. We don’t have much in the way of fancy decorations. The walls have some old calendars and a few tools hanging up. It’s just a regular engineering shop doing what needs to get done before the sun goes down and we all head home to our families.
