If you have ever been to Shukrawar Peth, you know how tight the lanes are and how busy Shivaji Road gets. Our shop, Srinivasa Agency, is located at number 531, right near Rameshwar Chowk. It is an old building, and the stairs are a bit narrow, but we have been here for a long time. We deal with various goods, and the stock is usually piled up high towards the ceiling. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but we know where everything is eventually. Being in the heart of the city means there is always noise from the bells of the nearby temple and the honking of scooters outside. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a big shipment in, and we have to move boxes around just to make a path to the desk. We don’t have any fancy signs or big glass windows. It’s a traditional setup where most people know us by name. We spend our mornings checking the inventory and the afternoons dealing with the walk-in crowd. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually keep the door open to catch whatever breeze comes through the alley. We aren't doing anything flashy, just keeping the agency running like it has for years. It’s a lot of work, but we like being part of the old market area.
