Sri Satya Nursery

Sri Satya Nursery is situated at Survey Number 583 in Gultekadi. We are right by the Market Yard. It’s a bit of a different vibe here compared to the loud fruit and vegetable markets nearby. We have rows of plants and saplings sitting in the dirt. My hands are usually covered in soil by the time noon rolls around. It’s a lot of watering and shifting heavy pots from one side to the other. We have some shade nets set up because the sun in Gultekadi can get really intense in the afternoons. It’s not a perfectly manicured garden like you see in magazines. It’s a working nursery. There are bags of fertilizer piled up near the entrance and old watering cans scattered around. We have all sorts of stuff, from small flowering plants to some bigger bushes. People come by when they want to add a bit of green to their balconies or front yards. Sometimes they ask questions about why their plants are dying and we just tell them what we know from years of messing around in the dirt. The ground is often a bit muddy, especially after we finish the morning watering. It’s quiet work for the most part, except for the birds and the occasional truck passing by the market yard. We just like being out here with the plants every day. It is a lot of work but it feels good to see things grow in the middle of all the city traffic.
