Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Limited

This is our local branch of Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Limited. We are situated over near New Bel Road, around Yakutpura and the Daud Shahid Chow area. It’s a bit of a maze to get here if you aren't from this part of town. We deal with all sorts of things for the soil. Farmers come in with questions about their crops. The office has that specific smell of chemicals and old paper. It’s not a bad smell, just what we are used to. We have a big counter where people can come and talk. There are posters on the wall showing different types of grain. Most of our furniture is from the eighties. We have a clock that ticks really loudly when it’s quiet. We spend a lot of time on the phone with the warehouse. It gets very hot in the summer and our old AC unit makes a lot of noise. We don't have a marketing team here. It’s just us staff members doing the inventory and helping the customers. The chow outside is always full of people and noise. Sometimes a stray dog comes in to sleep on the cool floor. We don't mind. We have been part of this neighborhood for a long time. It’s a steady job and we know the local farmers by their first names. Just a basic setup.
