If you come down to Pimpri Dairy Dan Cross Road 1, you’ll find us at Sona Plasto. It’s a bit of a noisy place because the plastic molding machines never really stop for long. We make all sorts of plastic items, and the whole shop usually smells like warm poly-beads and cooling metal. There are bags of raw material stacked up against the walls and finished bins piled high in the corners. We spend most of the day checking the molds and making sure the shapes are coming out right without any rough edges. It’s not a clean-room environment; there’s dust and the sound of the cooling fans is always in the background. My hands are usually a bit stiff by the end of the day from moving the crates around. We have a small table where we sit for lunch, usually just some home-cooked food while we talk about the news or the weather. The trucks come in the afternoon to pick up what we’ve made, so that’s always the busiest time for us. We don't have any fancy brochures or a marketing team, just the machines and the people who know how to run them. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend a few hours with a wrench getting it back online. It’s a simple manufacturing life here in Pimpri, just making things one piece at a time until the day is finally done and we can lock up.
