Snow Washers & Dry Cleaners

In Karve Nagar, our shop is usually filled with the smell of detergent and the sound of the washing machines spinning. We have a few big industrial washers and dryers that run pretty much from morning until we close up at night. It gets quite warm inside with all the steam from the presses. We spend our time sorting through piles of clothes, checking pockets for forgotten change or pens, and getting the stains out. The hangers are always clinking together on the racks. We don’t have a lot of space, so the finished laundry is bagged up and stacked neatly near the counter. Karve Nagar is a nice area but the parking outside can be a bit of a headache for people dropping off their bags. We have a ledger where we write down all the orders by hand. Sometimes a button comes loose and we have to fix it before the customer comes back. The floor is usually a bit damp from the water, so we have to be careful not to slip. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy bags of wet sheets and towels. We’ve got a small radio that plays local stations to keep us company while we fold everything. Snow Washers & Dry Cleaners is just a regular local laundry spot where we work hard every day. We also have a cat that hangs around the back door looking for scraps. Sometimes the steam makes it hard to see the clock on the far wall.
