In the old heart of Pune, specifically Narayan Peth, you’ll find D D Dhobale Co. Our address is Ashok Nagar 273 14 1. It’s an area where the streets are narrow and full of history. The building we are in is quite old, and you can tell by the way the floorboards creak when you walk on them. We have a small office that stays relatively cool because the walls are so thick. There are piles of ledger books and papers everywhere, but we know exactly where everything is located. Ashok Nagar is a busy little pocket, and there’s always someone passing by the window. We spend our days mostly answering the phone and dealing with the paperwork that piles up. It’s a very traditional kind of workspace. We haven't changed much of the furniture since we moved in. There’s an old fan that wobbles a bit on high speed, but it does the job. Most of our work is done by hand or on an old typewriter that we still keep around for certain things. It’s a steady pace of life here. We aren't in a rush to become some big corporation. We like the way things are in Narayan Peth. It’s familiar and it feels right to be part of this community. We close up early on Saturdays to enjoy the rest of the weekend. It's just a simple life here.
