Shreenath Hospital

I spend most of my hours at Shreenath Hospital. We are over in Solace Park on B T Kawade Road in the Ghorpadi area. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but the Ghorpadi neighborhood is quite lively. The hospital building itself is tucked into the park area, so it’s a little less noisy than being right on the main intersection. We have several floors, and the elevator has a habit of making a long dinging sound that echoes down the halls. I usually take the stairs anyway. The walls are painted a pale off-white color that we try to keep clean, though there are always scuffs from the carts moving equipment around. In the rooms, the curtains are a simple blue, and we make sure the sheets are changed as soon as someone leaves. It’s a lot of work keeping a hospital running, and sometimes we are still here long after the sun has gone down. The night shift can be quiet, just the sound of the machines and the occasional footsteps in the corridor. We have a small canteen nearby where the coffee is actually pretty decent if you catch them at the right time. Most of the families who come here are from the local apartment blocks around B T Kawade Road. Ghorpadi has changed a lot over the years, but this road remains a central part of our daily life here at the hospital.
