Sheti Udyog Bhandar

You can find Sheti Udyog Bhandar right on Shevaji Road in Swargate. Being in Swargate means there is always something happening outside our door. It is one of those parts of the city that never really stays quiet, with all the buses and people moving through. We deal with agricultural things, mostly stuff farmers or gardeners might need when they’re heading back out of the city. The shop has been here for years, and the walls have that look of a place that’s seen a lot of seasons. I started working here because I like being around the tools and the smell of the sacks. We don't really have a fancy display or anything. Everything is just stacked where it fits best on the shelves or on the floor. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for in the back, but we always get there. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break to sit on the bench outside. It’s a dusty job, especially when the wind kicks up on Shevaji Road. We see all kinds of people, from big landowners to folks just trying to grow a few tomatoes on their balcony. It’s a practical business, and we don’t spend much time on the computer; we’d rather be talking to the people who walk in every afternoon.
