Select The Salon

You can find us over at Shop No 11 in Asami Plaza. We are right in the heart of Deccan Gymkhana, which is always moving. Pune 411004 is a busy area, especially with Goodluck Chowk being so close by. Most people know that intersection because of the cafe and all the students hanging around. Asami Plaza is one of those spots where you just blend into the daily buzz of the city. Our shop, number 11, isn't the biggest, but it works for what we need. We spend our days watching the crowds walk past on their way to the main market or the bus stops. The energy around Deccan is something else, very different from the quieter parts of Pune. When we opened Select The Salon, we just wanted a place that was easy for people to get to, and being near Goodluck Chowk definitely helps with that. The plaza has its own set of regulars, and we’ve become part of that small community of shopkeepers. We keep the floor swept and the chairs ready. There isn’t any fancy decor to talk about, just the usual stuff you’d expect in a shop. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we manage. We’ve been here long enough that the sounds of the traffic outside just become background noise while we work. It’s a straightforward setup in a very busy part of town, and that’s just how it is.
