Sassoon Hospital

This part of the hospital is over by the BJ Medical College side. It’s a bit different from the main gates because you see so many students around. They’re everywhere in their white coats, carrying heavy books and talking about exams. I’ve been working in this section for a while, and it has its own pace. It’s still part of Sassoon, so it’s never exactly quiet, but the vibe is more about learning and teaching. You walk through the campus and see the old buildings where the classes happen before you get to the wards. The hallways here are often lined with benches where students are sitting and drinking tea between their shifts. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it. The walls have old posters about health and anatomy that have been there for years. We deal with the same kinds of cases as the rest of the hospital, but there’s always a group of young doctors-to-be watching and taking notes. It makes the rooms feel smaller when there are ten people around one bed. The air is always a bit stuffy, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the windows. We don’t have much in the way of fancy decorations or nice furniture. It’s just a place for work and study, and it stays busy from early morning until late at night.
