Sassoon Hospital

Sassoon Hospital is situated right near the Station Road area. It’s a very handy spot because of how close it is to the railway tracks. You can hear the trains passing by and the announcements from the platform if the wind is blowing the right way. The road outside is always packed with rickshaws and people rushing to catch their travel. Because we are so close to the station, we get a lot of people who are just passing through or coming from other towns nearby. It is a busy part of the city and there is never a dull moment. The building itself has been around for quite some time. It has a lot of character, even if it looks a bit worn out in some places. We don’t have fancy decorations or anything like that. It is just a place where things happen. The corridors are wide but they get crowded quickly when the morning shifts start. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. The breeze from the open windows helps on the hot days. There are some small shops and snack stalls just down the street where the staff goes for lunch. It’s a very grounded atmosphere. We see a lot of life here every single day. The sun hits the front of the building in the afternoon and it gets quite warm. It’s just a normal, working hospital near the heart of the transit hub.
