Sakshi Transport

Working in transport means our days start way before the sun is up, usually right here on Malvadi Road in Hadapsar. We are located in Vidya Vihar Colony, which is a bit quieter than the main highway, though you can still hear the ambulances going to Sane Guruji Hospital nearby. Our spot is basically a small cabin where we keep all the logs and keys. Most of the action happens outside in the yard where the trucks are parked. There is always a smell of diesel and old tires around here. We spend a lot of time arguing with drivers about schedules or worrying about a breakdown somewhere on the road. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. Most of us are in dusty clothes, leaning over a clipboard or talking loudly into a mobile phone to be heard over the engine noise. The colony has grown a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed in this same corner near the hospital. We have a small bench outside where we sit in the evenings once the main trips are dispatched. It’s a rough business with a lot of long hours, but it’s what we know. We don’t have a fancy website or a big marketing team, just some trucks and a lot of people who know how to drive them across the state.
