Ajay Transport

Our yard for Ajay Transport is out at Survey No 630 in Kondhapuri, Shirur. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but it gives us the space we need for the vehicles. The ground is mostly dirt, so it gets really muddy when it rains, which makes moving the trucks a real hassle. I spend a lot of my time on the phone talking to drivers who are stuck in traffic or lost on some back road. We’ve got a small shed where we keep the tools and some spare parts. It’s dusty work and my hands are usually covered in grease by noon. Kondhapuri is a good spot for us because it’s near the main routes. We don't have a big staff, just a few reliable guys who have been driving for us for a long time. They know the trucks better than I do. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the loads get where they are supposed to be without too much trouble. Sometimes the trucks break down and we have to spend the whole weekend fixing them. That’s the part of the job nobody sees. It’s a lot of long hours and missed dinners, but we’re used to it. We just keep moving things from one place to another, day in and day out. It’s a simple life but it's ours. Nothing more to it.
