Sakhi Beauty Parlour

You can find Sakhi Beauty Parlour in the Sadashiv Peth area of Pune, specifically at Survey No 1280 on the main Bajirao Road. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of noise from the buses and scooters coming inside the shop. We have a small space here where we handle basic things like threading and hair care for the local women. The shop is not very large at all, so it often feels a bit crowded when three or four people are waiting for their turn. We just have a couple of chairs and some simple shelves where we keep our creams and bottles. It is a very basic setup, nothing like those fancy places you see in the big shopping malls. Most of our regulars live just a few streets away in the peth. They usually drop in after they finish their morning housework or while they are out buying groceries. We spend a lot of our time just chatting with the customers while we work. It is how we stay connected to what is happening around Sadashiv Peth. Sometimes the power goes out during the day and we just have to use hand fans until it comes back. The floor is tiled and we try our best to keep it clean, but with people coming directly from the dusty sidewalk, it is a constant job. We have been in this building for many years now.
