I've been working out of this spot at Kothrud Sai Baba Nagar 17 for a good amount of time now. It is a quiet residential area mostly, which helps when you need to focus on things. The office is basically a room with some desks, a lot of files, and a computer that’s seen better days. It isn’t anything like those big corporate places you see downtown. It’s just me and a couple of others trying to keep up with the daily paperwork and calls. The morning usually starts with a cup of tea and looking through the mail. Sometimes the internet acts up or the printer runs out of ink right when you need it, which is annoying but we manage. People stop by the gate and ask for directions or look for our door because the numbers in this lane can be a bit confusing. It’s nice having a window that looks out onto the street even if there isn't much to see except the occasional delivery bike or a neighbor’s cat. We don't spend money on fancy signs or decor because it doesn't really matter for the kind of work we do here. Most of the day is spent just typing or talking on the phone. It’s a steady rhythm that suits us well. Being here in Kothrud feels right because everything we need is just around the corner. We keep things low-key and just focus on the task list each morning until the sun goes down and it is time to head home.
