Vastushilp Creation

Vastushilp Creation is tucked away in Vidyanand Terrace on Ketkar Road. We are up in room 302, so you get a bit of a view of Erandwana from the window. Being near Kalmadi School means we hear the school bells and the kids shouting during their breaks. The office is usually filled with rolls of paper and various drawings spread across the tables. It is not a huge space, but it works for what we need to do. We spend hours sitting at the desks, sketching things out or looking at designs on the computer. Sometimes we have to go out to sites, but a lot of the thinking happens right here. The neighborhood is fairly quiet compared to the main city roads, which is nice for concentrating. We have a lot of books and samples cluttering up the shelves. It’s a bit of a walk up if the lift is being slow, but we don't mind it much. The atmosphere is just people working quietly and trying to figure out how to make things look right. We don't really do much in terms of decoration ourselves, even though we work on designs. Most of the time, the coffee mugs are sitting next to the blueprints. It is just a practical workspace where we spend our days trying to get the details right. Ketkar Road is a familiar place to us now after being here so long. It is just where we do our creative work.
