We are set up on the Main Road in Nehru Nagar, quite close to the Jain Temple. We are in room 103. The office is usually overflowing with rolls of paper and various blueprints. We have a few computers that run all day long. A lot of our time is spent just staring at those screens and drawing lines. It involves a lot of thinking and checking measurements. Sometimes we have to go out to the actual building sites to see how things are going. It is always dusty out there and we get dirt on our shoes. Back in the office, it is a bit quieter, until the phones start ringing. We have a big flat table in the middle of the room where we spread out the large drawings. The light is okay, but we have to use desk lamps when we are working on the small details. People come in to talk about their houses or new buildings they want to put up. We listen to what they want and then try to figure out how to make it happen on paper. It is not always a simple task. There are so many rules about building codes that we have to follow. Sometimes we get stuck on one design for the whole day. We drink a lot of tea to keep ourselves awake. The walk from the temple is short, so people find us pretty easily. It is a basic setup.
