S. G. Gears

Our shop is over in Bhosari, right at Plot 35 in Sector 35. If you find the Times of India building, we are just behind it in the PCNTDA area. It’s a busy industrial zone, so there’s always trucks moving around and people rushing. S. G. Gears is exactly what it sounds like. We make gears. We’ve been doing it in this same building for years. The walls are stained with oil and the floor is concrete, but it works for what we need. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Bhosari, just one that does honest work. I spend most of my day looking at drawings or checking the cutting machines. We don't have a marketing department or a website that gets updated. Most people find us because they need a specific gear cut and someone told them to come here. Sometimes we run out of steel and have to wait for the truck, or a machine needs a new part, which slows things down. That's just part of the business. We try to keep things simple and avoid the corporate headaches. The tea stall down the street is where we usually take our breaks. It’s a regular life, making parts that go into other machines. We don't promise anything fancy, just that we will do the work we said we would. That is how we’ve always done things here, day in and day out, focused on the metal.
