Ramesh Pawale

You can find Ramesh Pawale right on Bahu Patil Road, specifically in the Main Market at number 4. Being in the market means we are surrounded by all kinds of shops, from vegetable vendors to clothing stores. It is a very lively place to be every day. We open the shutters early in the morning just as the market is waking up. The smell of fresh produce and the sound of people bargaining is just part of our daily background. Our shop is quite simple. We have a counter and some benches where people can sit while they wait. Ramesh is usually there behind the desk, handling the accounts or talking to suppliers. We don't have any air conditioning, just a big pedestal fan that moves the air around during the hot afternoons. The floors get a bit dusty from the street, so we sweep them a few times a day. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us for years. They know our names and we know theirs. It is the kind of place where you can get a glass of water and have a chat about the weather or the local news. We don't do any big advertising. People just know we are here at number 4. It’s a busy life, but it’s a good one, and we like being part of the Bahu Patil Road community. It feels like home to us now.
