Rajaram Lokhande

My name is Rajaram Lokhande and I’m based out of Yerwada, over in Sector 35C. If you know this area, you know it’s a tight-knit place where everyone kind of knows everyone else’s business. I’ve been working from here for a long time, and I’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. My setup is pretty basic, nothing that would win any design awards, but it works for me and the people who come to see me. I handle a bit of everything that comes my way. Some mornings I start early before the sun is even fully up, just to get a head start on the day’s tasks. There’s always something needing attention, whether it’s a small repair or some paperwork that needs sorting out. I don't spend money on flyers or big signs because I think if you do a decent job, people will find you anyway. My neighbors know where I live and they know they can knock if they need something. It can get a bit messy with tools or papers scattered around, but I know where everything is. Life in Yerwada moves at its own pace and I’m just glad to be a part of it. I’ve lived in this house for years and it’s seen a lot of history. My work table is right by the front door so I can see who is coming and going. Sometimes the kids play cricket outside and I have to remind them to be careful of the windows. It’s not a corporate setup at all. I have my tea set in the corner and a radio that’s usually playing old songs in the background. I just do what I can to keep things running smoothly for myself and the folks who rely on me. If you’re ever in the area, you’ll likely see me sitting on the porch in the evening. It’s a good life, even if it’s a bit noisy and busy most of the time. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but right here.
