Our shop is right across from Lokmanya Hospital in Chinchwad. It’s a good spot because people are always passing by. We get fresh deliveries every morning. The floor is usually a bit wet from the water we spray on the roses and lilies. It can get messy with all the stems and leaves lying around. We spend a lot of time trimming things and putting them into bunches. There’s no fancy air conditioning here, just the natural smell of the flowers. We use different kinds of paper and ribbons to wrap them up. Sometimes people want something simple, just a few stems. Other times it's a big pile for a function. We've been in Pimpri for a bit and we know the regulars. The hospital traffic means we see a lot of people in a hurry. We try to have things ready quickly. It's hard work standing all day and dealing with the thorns. My hands are always a bit scratched up. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in or call us. We keep the buckets full and the flowers as fresh as we can. When the sun hits the shop in the afternoon, it gets quite bright. We just keep moving the buckets to the shade. It’s a simple business, really. We just sell flowers to whoever needs them. Sometimes we run out of certain colors by evening, but that is how it goes.
